What are pronouns?




A personal pronoun is used in place of a noun that is the subject or object of a sentence.

A possessive pronoun shows possession.

A reflexive pronoun shows the receiver of an action. It also conveys emphasis.




A demonstrative pronoun points out the noun it refers to.

An interrogative pronoun is used to ask a question.

A relative pronoun relates or joins a group of words that follow it.
